Joe and I are running 50k along the South Downs on the 28th May. A huge challenge for us both having never run anywhere near this distance before.

We wanted to use this as an opportunity to raise money for a cause that is really close to both our hearts.

Six years ago, at the age of 25, our friend Will suffered a life changing climbing accident which meant that he was hospitalised for two years, lost all feeling from the waist down and became a double amputee. Despite putting on a brave face, recovery is still an ongoing challenge with many ups and downs that has left him feeling isolated.

Will has always been sociable, funny and adventurous. He is a fanatical climber, mountain biker and all round outdoorsman. Currently the outside life he used to live is completely inaccessible.

Using our run - we're hoping to raise a bit of money towards allowing him to get back to doing the things he loves.

The Bowhead Reach, an adaptive off road e-bike, would give him the opportunity to get back into the mountains with friends and start back where he left off. However - it's not cheap.

By supporting us to get through what will be a bruising experience, you're also helping a dear friend to find a new way of living.
